In recent years, there has been increased focus in the KBB market around lighting. End-consumers now have much more knowledge and have been requesting lighting products from their KBB retailer. This had forced some KBB retailers to uncomfortably dip their toes in the lighting world.
We wanted to work together with a premier lighting retailer to educate KBB retailers, giving them the knowledge and confidence to sell to their customers. As one of the oldest lighting companies in the KBB market, we thought Leyton Lighting would be a great choice, so in May 2015 we signed up as Distribution Partner.
Leyton Lighting’s collection of stunning lighting includes beautifully crafted pendant and island lights specifically designed for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. The Trio Collection epitomises current trends using contemporary materials such as copper and glass, others are timeless classics that will grace any interior.
The Leyton range of KBB lighting includes cabinet, plinth, drawer and shelf lighting. Much of the range utilises the latest COB LED technology so you can offer your customers the most exceptional lighting for their homes.
Browse the full Leyton lighting collection here. While online ordering is available for much of the range, you can also place your orders via our sales team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or giving us a ring on 0845 634 9700.
"Independent Retailer Month is a campaign that runs annually throughout July to highlight the important role smaller, local, independent retailers play in the communities they serve, the local economy they contribute to, and in the retail sector as a whole."
As a lot of our customers are independent kbb retailers working on our high streets, industrial estates and out of their own workshops, we thought it was important to support this campaign and let you know about all the resources on offer.
For every pound you spend in a locally owned business up to 70p benefits your local community whereas if you shop out of town or online, as little as 5p finds it’s way back.
The aim of Independent Retailer Month is to give a boost to the local economy and community. They want to help change consumer habits for the long term, creating more sustainable towns and communities.
To make it easy for shoppers to find their local independent shops, they have created a searchable directory of UK independent retailers. The directory is only available to independent businesses that serve the consumer. If you do qualify and would like a free business listing and social media promotion, then submit your business for free here.
To support all independent retailers, the campaign has created free downloadable resources including ‘How to beat the major retail brands’, ‘How to use 10 steps to retail success’ and ‘How to get started with social media’. View the full list of downloadable resources here.
Getting involved is free. If you want to find out more about the campaign, get access to free business hints and tips or drive extra footfall and sales with campaign events, then visit the Independent Retail campaign website.
For Beer Day Britain on Wednesday 15th June we handed out some nice bottles of beer to our lovely customers.
Our Sales Director, George Richardson, chose Newcastle Brown Ale as the drink of choice for some of our Scottish customers on the day. Here’s a selection of some of the recipients, including JRW Interiors, Signature Kitchens, Regency and Stevenswood.
Nowadays, peoples expectation of lighting extends beyond just a lamp and a ‘big light’. If you are feeling overwhelmed by all the different types of lighting options. Keep reading for a brief overview.
There are three groups of lighting you need to consider when lighting a room. Combining all three will give you a great overall effect & provide flexibility to perform the wide range of functions the room may need to accommodate. This is especially important in kitchens. The change from a bright, energetic light for daytime tasks to a relaxed space after work should be seamless and effortless. Continue reading “A Quick Guide to Lighting”
Did you know that Friday 22nd April was National Jelly Bean Day!
To celebrate, George and Richard were handing out jars of Jelly Beans to customers they visited on the day. The sweet jars were the perfect size to take home and enjoy over the weekend or to place in the showroom to share with customers (if they were feeling generous!).
Last week, we helped deliver Mistral training to dozens of fitters. Mistral is a 25mm solid surface format with a choice of 20 colours that gives fitters the freedom to design and shape their customers’ ideal kitchens without limits.
With no MDF or particleboard substrate to contend with, skilled joiners can create seamless joints between Mistral worktops, splashbacks and upstands. However, to get the best results, fitters should be trained and understand how to work with the material.
To help our Scottish customers make the most of Mistral, we organised a series of three training sessions. These were run by the experts at Karonia, the manufacturers of Mistral, and took place across Stevenswood counters in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dunfermline.
Our Sales Director, George Richardson, has attended all three sessions and is now our resident Mistral expert. If you have any Mistral fitting questions, you will now be directed straight to George!
What about the sessions themselves? While they are often referred to as training sessions, it is more accurate to call them Product Demonstrations. The comprehensive nature of the demo means that it is not necessary to have any previous solid surface experience. So the sessions are open to anyone, whether they already work with Mistral or are looking to add it to their portfolio.
What does the MISTRAL Product Demonstration cover?
What are the key things the fitters will come away with from the session?
Confidence and knowledge of how to correctly install all Karonia products
An appreciation of the ease of installation
Full understanding of tooling requirements
Full manufacturer support, advice and aftercare
Confidence in dealing with an experienced manufacturer and a field-tested product.
There’s been a lot of interest around Mistral as they recently introduced 3 new colours at the KBB 2016 show; Orion, Lunas and Polaris (see the new colours here). The sessions have proved so popular we have organised some further dates later in the year to take place in Scotland, here at NESP in Durham and at Karonia’s headquarters in Yorkshire.
Thanks to Stevenswood, one of our Scottish customers, who kindly offered up their space for the sessions.
If you want more information on upcoming training sessions please contact our sales team on 0845 634 9700 or email email@example.com. View our full range of Mistral solid surface products and order online via the NESP website.
The internet is changing the way we do business; you’ll know yourself how many people research online before even stepping foot in a showroom, some suggest the figure is as high as 90%! When potential customers are looking online, how do you get to the top of their list?
One way to get found online & spread awareness of your business is to create company profiles on social networks like Twitter & Facebook. They allow you to build relationships with potential customers before they even enter your showroom.
Company pages are free to set-up so you have no excuse! Here’s a quick guide on how to get your company found online.
> Set up a company page
You probably have a personal Twitter or Facebook account but make sure you set up a company page. Find quick guides on how to set up a company Facebook page here & a Twitter page here.
> Fill in the bio
Always complete the ‘About Us’ section so if people come across you on Twitter or Facebook rather than your website they will still know who you are & what you do.
> Update contact details
Make sure your showroom address, phone number, email address & opening times are all up-to-date wherever they’re displayed (& display them everywhere!)
> Link it up
Everywhere you’re online, make sure there are links to all of your platforms. So, on your Facebook page, include your website address & twitter handle.
> Ask for feedback
There’s a massive 64% increase in willingness to purchase from customer reviews. So ask your customers to leave reviews!
Complete these steps to optimise your company’s online presence, get found online and bring more customers through your door!
